The third in the sequence of Rupert Hine albums co-produced by Stephen W Tayler, The Wildest Wish to Fly further developed the distinctive production and sonic language established with Immunity. Co-produced, engineered and mixed by Tayler, the album completed an influential trilogy that became a calling card for the Hine–Tayler production partnership and led to their work with a succession of other artists. Lyrics by Jeannette Obstoj.
